California Pool / Spa / Water Safety Signs and Labels

Our California pool and spa water safety signs warn people of potential hazards around water bodies and inform employees and guests about water safety rules. These signs come in different styles and meet California Title 24 swimming pool code standards.

  • These signs are best used to keep your facility in compliance with state regulations and to remind people to be safe on your property

Swimming Pool Rules - All rules and requests made by lifesaving personnel must be followed. - All patrons entering the facility during Recreation/Lap Swim times are required to pay the facility admission fee. Parents wishing to watch their children that are 7 years and older during recreation swim are not required to pay the adult admission fee, but must remain in the designated spectator area.- Children under 7 years old or less than four feet tall must be accompanied by a parent or responsible person in a swim suit at all times including in the water, on the deck and in the restroom. While in the water, the parent/responsible person must remain within arms reach at all times. - All children under the age of 4 years old must wear a swimsuit diaper or plastic pants and swim suit regardless of toilet training. No cloth or disposable diapers are allowed. - Persons in the water must wear acceptable swim suits. T-shirts are not allowed. A tight fitting rash guard is acceptable. - Animals are not allowed in the building or pool area, with the exception of guide/service dogs. Guide/service dogs are allowed on deck, but not in the water. - Persons under the influence of alcohol or narcotics will be denied admission and/or asked to leave the premises.- Candy, food or beverages are not allowed except in designated area provided for eating or drinking. No glass items, chewing gum or smoking is permitted in the facility. - Flotation devices (water wings, swim suits with floats etc.) are not allowed. Toys, snorkels and masks are not allowed unless part of organized activity or approved by the Pool Manager. Lifejackets must be U.S. Coast Guard approved. - Suntan oils may not be used by sunbathers or swimmers. The use of sunscreen is encouraged; however, patrons must shower before re-entering the pool. - All patrons must shower before entering the pool. Persons with open cuts, sores, bandages, colds, coughs or infected eyes are not permitted in the pool. - Spitting, spouting or nose-blowing in the pool is strictly prohibited. - Everyone must pass a swim test before entering deep water. Weak or non-swimmers must remain in shallow water not deeper than their armpits. - Lying on the deck close to the edge of the pool where swimmers may trip over sunbathers is dangerous. Sunbathers must lie or sit at least three (3) feet away from the edge of the pool or in a designated area for such activity. - Dangerous practices are prohibited. Patrons must not run on decks; climb, sit or jump from fences: dive in shallow water (less than 9 feet deep): dunk, push, pull or splash swimmers. Jumps are permitted feet first. Back jumps, twisting and flips are not permitted at any time. - Diving in water less than nine (9) feet deep, back dives, somersaults, cannon balls from the side of the pool or any other unsafe activity are not permitted. - Do not engage with the lifeguard in unnecessary conversation. - Emergency procedures must be observed. Swimmers must leave the pool area immediately upon the signal or request of the Pool Manager. - Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated. - Walk at all times. DO NOT RUN.

Swimming Pool Rules - Any child between the ages of 0 through 10 years of age must be supervised by a person at least 18 years of age with proper swim attire and must remain with that adult at all times. Any child 11 years of age or older does not need to have anyone accompany them. - Remember children still in diapers must be wearing approved swim diapers in order to use our swimming pool. - No one is allowed in the pool area unless a lifeguard is on duty. - Approved swim attire must be worn while swimming at all times. This means swim wear only. No cutoffs, denim shorts or basketball shorts that are hanging off the body. All swimwear must have a liner. - Swim attire must be made of lycra, spandex or nylon. - No one having a contagious disease or infectious condition or having bandaging or healed abrasions will be allowed in the pool, including fresh tattoos. Refer any of the above cases to the Pool Supervisor. - Chewing gum and smoking are prohibited. - No running, pushing, shoving, horseplay or any other type of boisterous activity will be allowed in the pool area. - No breakable containers or glass allowed in the pool area. - Personal flotation devices may be used for therapeutic or rehabilitative purposes and may be used only with prior approval of the Pool Supervisor and a doctors note. All other flotation devices are prohibited for all patrons including children with the exception of coast guard approved lifejackets. - The use or possession of alcohol and drugs on city property is prohibited. - Anyone suspected to be under the influence will be prohibited from entering the facility. - Patrons are responsible for their own valuables and personal items. - Masks, fins and snorkels are not permitted.

Swimming Pool Rules - Entrance is denied to: Children under seven (7), unless accompanied by an adult on a one-to-one ratio. - Children under the age of four (4) without an approved "swim diaper" or plastic pants with elastic around the waist and legs. Proper swim attire is as follows: - Men must wear swim trunks with a liner AND a drawstring, board shorts are acceptable. - Females must wear a bathing suit, may be a one-piece or two-piece. Inappropriate swim attire is as follows: - No cut-offs, bike shorts, basketball shorts, or street shorts. - No white t-shirts or white rash guards or shirts of any kind. - Swimsuit must cover the buttocks, no thongs. - No bodysuits or leotards.

Swimming Pool Rules - Facilities at all pools include showers, changing area and lockers. You must bring your own lock for the locker. Locks may not be left on over night. - Non-swimmers must remain in shallow water. Deep water test includes crawl stroke 6-widths of the pool and tread water for 1 minute. - Deck staff are responsible for enforcing rules and regulations relating to the safety of swimmers and have the authority to eject persons for not complying with said rules and regulations. - Shower time is limited to three (3) minutes. Parents who have children shorter than minimum pool depth must abide by these rules: - Parents must accompany children shorter than the minimum pool depth - Parents must not leave children unattended - Parents must sign a permission slip. - Infants must wear diapers with elastic on legs and waist.
