Your commitment to safety should be evident as soon as your facility is in sight. Here\u2019s how you can make a great first impression as people arrive on your property.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Front Gate<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your front gate is literally your first impression, so make it a great one! Make it easy for anyone arriving to understand where they need to go. If your facility has certain restricted areas or areas that require PPE, the front gate is a good place to make that known. When people don\u2019t understand where to go, they can get frustrated and end up exactly where they shouldn\u2019t be. Having the right signage at your front gate can start off their visit on the right foot. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parking Lot<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the National Safety Council, there are an estimated 50,000 crashes in parking lots every year. A lot of that is due to distracted driving. Making things clear for your visitors helps eliminate distractions and keep everyone safe. Here are just a few of the signs and markings your parking lot should have displayed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fire Lane Signs<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The last thing you need if the unthinkable should happen and a fire breaks out, is to deal&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with cars blocking the fire trucks\u2019 access to your building. Clearly marked entrances and exits save everyone time and frustration. When drivers have to search too hard for something, it takes their mind and their eyes off the road in front of them and that leads to accidents.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security Cameras<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using security cameras to monitor and protect your business property is a common practice. While it is not required by law to inform your employees, customers or visitors that cameras are in use, it is a good idea. Posting a sign that says \u201cvideo camera in use\u201d or \u201cvideo surveillance in use\u201d is not only courteous, but it can also reduce theft and vandalism simply by letting people know they\u2019re being watched. You\u2019re on camera!\u201d sign<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Front Entrance<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your front entrance is another great place to make a positive safety impression. If your facility has any <a href=\"https:\/\/compliancesigns.com\/c\/ppe-personal-protective-equipment-signs\">PPE requirements<\/a> or restricted areas, this should be posted near your entrance. It\u2019s also important to post wayfinding signage to help your visitors know where to go to find what they need. As long as they know where to go, they\u2019re less likely to wind up somewhere they shouldn\u2019t be that could be hazardous.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with signage, keeping welcome mats near your front entrance not only helps the look but can reduce mud and water on the floor, reducing the risk of slips and falls.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restricted Areas<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ve already said that you should mention restricted areas by the front gate or front entrance to serve as early warning, but the area itself needs to be very clearly marked. Be sure that anyone seeing your signs can understand who is and is not allowed to enter the restricted area and what safety hazards might be beyond that threshold.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Back Entrance\/Loading Dock<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You want to keep traffic flowing smoothly and safely behind your building as well as out front. Post signs to help delivery trucks find <a href=\"https:\/\/compliancesigns.com\/search\/go?w=delivery%20entrance&amp;asug=\">delivery entrances<\/a> as well as loading and unloading zones. Keep your loading dock clearly marked so trucks do not back into it and your employees don\u2019t go over the edge.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep in mind areas where you do not want traffic or parked cars like fire lanes and in front of gates or doors.
