You Can.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>National Preparedness Month every September is designed to raise awareness and encourage Americans to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, schools, workplace, organizations, businesses and places of worship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The month is sponsored by the Ready Campaign, a joint effort of FEMA and the Ad Council. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ready.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ready<\/a>, and its Spanish-language version <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ready.gov\/es\/business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Listo<\/a>, ask businesses to take four key actions to help protect your business from disaster:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stay informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make an emergency \/ business disaster plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build an emergency supply kit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get involved in your community by taking action to prepare for emergencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many measures business owners and managers can take to start getting ready for unplanned emergencies. A commitment to planning today will help support your employees, your customers and your community. It includes many resources for individuals and other groups, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-safety-signage-for-emergency-preparedness\"><strong>Safety Signage for Emergency Preparedness<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A disorganized evacuation can result in confusion, injury, and property damage. That&#8217;s why emergency preparedness planning should always address specific evacuation procedures, including routes, exits and assembly (muster) areas. And remember to mark the location of your emergency response plan, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When practicing for emergencies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compliancesigns.com\/products\/fire-emergency\/evacuation-route-signs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">evacuation route<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compliancesigns.com\/products\/fire-emergency\/surface-mount-muster-point-signs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">assembly \/ muster point signs<\/a> help direct people to safety and keep them organized when they get there. If an evacuation is necessary, you will need responsible, trained individuals who can supervise and coordinate activities to ensure a safe and successful evacuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fema-emergency-preparation-app\"><strong>FEMA Emergency Preparation App<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>FEMA encourages everyone to install and become more familiar with the FEMA App. The App allows users to receive weather alerts for up to 5 locations, offers an emergency preparedness checklist, and provides safety tips for varied emergency situations.
